Summary Itinerary
Day 1 Arrivals at the Airport and transfer to your hotel for refreshments dinner and overnight stay
Day 2 Travel to Arua town
Start early after breakfast and drive to Arua town. The journey will most probably take us the whole day. We may decide to go through Murchison Falls National Park or branch off at Nebbi to Biku hill to rediscover the Bethel Church building – “the tiniest church in the whole world”
This evening, we shall meet a local guide and plan our journeys around Arua, Nimule/Moyo and Adjumani appropriately
Day 3 We start with exploring the distant Maracha County visiting the Fort Lugard, the Belgian built Pyramids and the former Rhino Camp. Return later this evening to our hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 4 We hike to the Banyale’s place on top of Wati Mountain in Terego
Day 5 We drive through Moyo and Adjumani, while exploring the famous and ancient “traveller’s tree” (locals, colonialists, foreign travellers, explorers used to rest under the said tree). We continue to Adjumani and pay a short visit to the “Sitting rocks”
Day 6 Travel to Kidepo Valley NP via Atiak and Kitgum
Days 7, 8 & 9 Exploring Kidepo Valley National Park
Day 10 Whole day on community experience: visit the Manyattas– the ancient homesteads of the Karamajong, and enjoy the Karamajong traditional dancers doing the Naleyo dance
Day 11 Transfer to Moroto
Day 12 A hike to the Morungole or Kadam Mountains (Mt. Moroto ranges)
Day 14 Transfer to Soroti through Katakwi
Day 15 Boat ride along Lake Bisina in the morning and in the afternoon, we transfer to Kumi – we pay a short visit to the Nyero Rock Paintings
Day 16 Whole morning hike to the Sipi falls and afternoon visit to the Abayudaya community in Mbale
Day 17 Travel to Entebbe via Jinja – short visit to the waterfalls or the Source of the Nile
Day 18 Departure
